Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 31-07-2026

Please read these terms first

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Your Sound Africa when you buy a ticket through YoTicketAfrica. We especially draw your attention to the following terms, which affect your rights:

  • Clause 2 — we sell tickets as agent for the event organiser. Your contract to attend the event is with the organiser, not with us.
  • Clause 13 — refunds. You are entitled to a refund if an event is cancelled, and in certain other situations set out there. You are generally not entitled to a refund if you simply change your mind.
  • Clause 9 — duplicate tickets. If your ticket code is copied or shared, only the first valid scan will be admitted.
  • Clause 18 — limits on our responsibility to you, including a cap on the amount we can be required to pay you.

Nothing in these Terms takes away any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act [Chapter 14:44] or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

1. About these Terms

These Terms and Conditions apply to your access to and use of the YoTicketAfrica website and to any ticket you buy through it. By selecting the acknowledgement checkbox at checkout, you confirm that you have read and accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

The version of these Terms that applies to your purchase is the version published on this website at the time you place your order.

2. Who we are, and our role as agent

YoTicketAfrica is operated by Your Sound Africa.

We sell tickets as agent for the event organiser. This is important, and it means:

  • Your contract for admission to the event, and for the event itself being staged as advertised, is between you and the event organiser.
  • Your contract with us is for the ticketing service: taking your order, reserving your ticket, directing you to payment, issuing your ticket and supporting your transaction.
  • The organiser is responsible for the event: its content, timing, venue, performers, safety, admission rules, and any decision to change, postpone or cancel it.
  • We collect payment from you on the organiser's behalf and pass it to the organiser, less any amounts we are entitled to retain.

This does not mean we walk away when something goes wrong. Clause 13 sets out refund entitlements, and clause 23 sets out how to raise a complaint with us.

3. Who can buy tickets

You must be 18 or over to buy a ticket through YoTicketAfrica. An adult may buy tickets for a child, but the adult remains the customer under these Terms and is responsible for the booking.

Individual events may have their own age restrictions set by the organiser. These are shown on the event listing and are separate from this clause.

4. Guest purchases and your details

Tickets are bought as a guest. We do not require you to create an account.

At checkout you must give us your correct name, phone number and email address. You are responsible for making sure these are accurate, current and accessible to you, because we use them to process your order, deliver your ticket and contact you about the event.

If you realise you have entered the wrong details, contact us as soon as possible using the details in clause 26 and we will correct them where we can.

5. Prices, currency and fees

Prices on YoTicketAfrica are quoted in United States Dollars (USD).

The price shown for a ticket is set by the event organiser. Before you pay, the checkout will show you:

  • The ticket price
  • The total amount payable

We do not add a booking or service fee. The price you see is the price you pay.

You will not be charged anything that was not shown to you before you completed payment.

6. Placing an order and when your contract is formed

You place an order when you enter your checkout details, select the acknowledgement checkbox and proceed to payment.

Placing an order does not guarantee a ticket. Availability is subject to successful reservation and payment confirmation.

Your purchase is confirmed only when we receive payment confirmation from Paynow and your order status is updated to paid. At that point your contract with the organiser (for admission) and with us (for the ticketing service) comes into effect.

If payment fails, is cancelled, or is not confirmed, your reservation may be released and the tickets returned to sale.

7. Payment through Paynow

Payments are processed externally by Paynow Zimbabwe. You will be directed to Paynow to complete your payment, and your payment is subject to Paynow's own terms.

We will never ask you for your mobile-money PIN, online-banking password, card PIN, CVV or full payment-card number — not at checkout, and not by phone, WhatsApp or email. If anyone claiming to be from YoTicketAfrica asks you for these, it is not us. Please report it to us immediately.

We are not responsible for delays, outages or errors in Paynow's systems or in your own payment provider's systems, but we will help you trace a payment if something goes wrong.

8. Your ticket and delivery

Tickets are issued electronically and sent to the email address you gave at checkout, normally within 1 hour of payment confirmation.

If your ticket does not arrive: first check your spam or junk folder. If it is still not there, contact us using the details in clause 26 and we will resend it. Please contact us at least 24 hours before the event so that we have time to help.

If you gave us an incorrect email address, we will resend your ticket to a corrected address once we have verified that you are the person who placed the order.

9. Ticket security, QR codes and duplicates

Your ticket carries a QR code, barcode and other unique identifiers. Treat it like cash. You are responsible for keeping it secure and for not copying, sharing, publishing or disclosing it — including posting an image of it online.

Each ticket code is valid for one admission only. Where the same code is presented more than once:

  • The first valid scan is admitted.
  • Any later presentation of that code will be refused, whoever presents it.

If you copied, shared or published your ticket code and someone else used it first, you will not be entitled to a refund. If your code was used without any act or omission on your part, contact us or event staff at the entrance and we will investigate; where we are satisfied the ticket was misused through no fault of yours, we will work with the organiser to admit you or arrange a refund.

Where a ticket is refused or blocked, you may ask us to review that decision, and a person — not an automated system alone — will review it.

10. Admission and event rules

Admission is subject to the organiser's and the venue's rules, including age restrictions, safety requirements, security and bag checks, entry times, re-entry rules and conduct rules. These are set by the organiser and venue, not by us.

The organiser or venue may refuse admission to, or remove, any person where the law or the event or venue rules permit. If you are refused admission or removed because of your own conduct or breach of the event rules, you will not be entitled to a refund.

11. Ticket resale and transfer

Tickets are sold for personal use. Unless the organiser expressly permits it, you must not resell tickets, transfer them for profit, advertise them for sale, or distribute them commercially.

You must not use or deal with tickets in any way that is unlawful, misleading or fraudulent, or contrary to the event rules. Tickets bought or resold in breach of this clause may be cancelled without refund.

If you simply wish to give your ticket to someone else at no profit, contact us and we will tell you whether the organiser permits it for that event.

12. Changes, postponements and cancellations

Events may be changed, postponed or cancelled by the organiser for reasons outside our control. This may include changes to date, time, venue, performers, programme or admission requirements.

Where we are told of a change, we will notify you using the contact details you gave at checkout, as soon as reasonably practicable.

Your entitlement in each situation is set out in clause 13.

13. Refunds

This clause sets out when you can get your money back. Nothing in it limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act [Chapter 14:44] or other applicable law.

What has happenedWhat you are entitled to
The event is cancelled and not rescheduledA refund of the ticket price.
The event is postponed or rescheduledYour ticket remains valid for the new date. If you cannot attend the new date, you may request a refund of the ticket price within 14 days of us notifying you of the new date.
The venue is moved, or there is another material change to the eventYou may request a refund of the ticket price within 14 days of us notifying you of the change.
We failed to deliver your ticket and could not resolve it before the eventA full refund, including any booking fee.
You were charged twice, or charged incorrectlyA refund of the amount overcharged.
You changed your mind, or could not attendNo refund, unless the organiser's own policy for that event offers one, or the law requires one.
You were refused admission or removed for your own conduct or breach of event rulesNo refund.
Your ticket code was used by someone else after you copied, shared or published itNo refund.

How to request a refund. Email info@yoticketafrica.com with your order reference and the reason for your request. We will acknowledge within 3 business days and tell you the outcome within 14 days.

How refunds are paid. Refunds are made to the payment method used for the original purchase wherever possible, through Paynow. Where that is not possible, we will agree an alternative method with you. Refunds are made in USD, or in the currency in which you paid.

How long refunds take. Once approved, refunds are normally processed within 14 days, though the time for funds to reach you depends on Paynow and your payment provider.

Our role. Because we sell as agent, refunds for cancelled or changed events are ultimately funded by the organiser. We will process your refund and pursue the organiser on your behalf, and we will keep you informed if there is a delay on the organiser's side.

14. Chargebacks and payment disputes

If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us first — we can usually resolve it faster than a formal dispute.

If you raise a chargeback or payment reversal, we may cancel the associated tickets and refuse admission pending the outcome. Where a chargeback is found to have been raised without a proper basis, we may recover from you the amount charged back together with any reasonable costs we incur.

15. Acceptable use of the website

You must use the website only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Interfere with the website or attempt to bypass its security or ticketing controls
  • Submit false, misleading or fraudulent information
  • Use bots, scripts or other automated purchasing tools without our written authorisation
  • Buy tickets in excess of any published limit per person or per event
  • Misuse the checkout, payment or refund processes

16. Suspension, cancellation and voiding of tickets

We may cancel an order, void a ticket, refuse a future purchase, or restrict your access to the website if:

  • You breach these Terms, in particular clauses 11 or 15
  • We reasonably suspect the order is fraudulent or was made using stolen payment credentials
  • Payment fails, is reversed, or is not confirmed

Where we cancel for one of these reasons and you were not at fault, we will refund you in full. Where you were at fault, no refund is due.

17. Website availability and events outside our control

We aim to keep the website available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Access may be affected by maintenance, network conditions, power interruptions, or issues with payment providers or other third parties.

Neither party is responsible for a failure to perform its obligations caused by an event outside its reasonable control, including power or network failure, acts of government or regulators, industrial action, epidemic, severe weather or other natural events. If such an event affects your purchase, clause 13 sets out your refund position.

18. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for providing the ticketing service with reasonable care and skill.

We are not responsible for the event itself. As set out in clause 2, the organiser is responsible for staging the event, for the venue, for safety and for admission decisions.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — for example, travel costs, accommodation, lost earnings or lost enjoyment — arising from your use of the website, your ticket purchase, changes or cancellation of an event, venue or organiser decisions, or interruptions in third-party or payment-provider systems.

Where we are liable to you, our total liability in connection with a ticket purchase is limited to the total amount you paid for that purchase.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act [Chapter 14:44].

19. Your responsibility to us

You are responsible for any loss or cost we reasonably incur as a result of your breach of these Terms, including your misuse of a ticket code, fraudulent purchases, or a chargeback raised without proper basis.

20. Privacy

We handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and what rights you have.

Where we pass your details to an event organiser so that they can admit you, the organiser becomes independently responsible for that information. Organisers are required by their agreement with us not to send you marketing unless you have separately agreed to receive it.

21. Intellectual property

The YoTicketAfrica name, website content, design, branding, images, software and related materials are owned by or licensed to Your Sound Africa or the relevant rights holders. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute or modify them except as permitted by law or with our permission.

Event artwork and organiser branding remain the property of the relevant organiser or rights holder.

22. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with a new "Last updated" date.

Changes do not apply retrospectively. The Terms that govern your purchase are those published at the time you placed your order. Where we make a material change, we will publish a notice on the website before it takes effect.

23. Complaints and disputes

If something has gone wrong, contact us first using the details in clause 26. Tell us your order reference and what you would like us to do. We will acknowledge within 3 business days and aim to resolve your complaint within 14 days.

If we cannot resolve it between us, you may refer the matter to a designated consumer protection organisation for resolution, or to the Consumer Protection Commission, under the Consumer Protection Act [Chapter 14:44]. Nothing in this clause prevents you from taking your matter to court.

24. General

Severability. If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

No waiver. If we do not enforce a term straight away, that does not mean we have given up the right to enforce it later.

Whole agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and the event information shown on the relevant event listing, form the whole agreement between us about your ticket purchase.

Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may transfer ours as part of a business transfer, provided your rights are not reduced.

25. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe, and the courts of Zimbabwe have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
